Welcome to the "O2H - Open Operating Systems & High Performance Computing Laboratory"
website.

The O2H Lab is a partnership between ADETTI / ISCTE Research Centre and Caixa Mágica Software
company, created to bring the power of open source software to Operating Systems and HPC field.
Active since 2001, conducts fundamental and applied research inside of ADETTI in topics
including open Operating Systems (Linux) and High Performance Computing (Cluster software,
Grids,...).
This areas, Operating Systems and HPC, share a common research interest in the infra-structure
layer. Is in that point that people of each field work together inside O2H.
Our mission is to develop world-class systems research combined with technology transfer
activities to industrial partners like Caixa Mágica Software.

Caixa Mágica Software is leader of Open Source solutions deployment in Portugal being
responsible for marketing Linux Caixa Mágica.
As an active SME created in 2004, Caixa Mágica Software has 4 business units that are: Software
(responsible by Linux Caixa Mágica development), Appliances (responsible by the developing and
supporting of Linux-based turn-key products that integrate both software and hardware and are ready
to be used by the client), Training and Professional Services.
Caixa Mágica Software is located in Entrecampos, in the center of the city and has participated
in several national and international OSS projects..

ADETTI mission is the creation of knowledge and the advance of the
state-of-the-art of science and technology for the Information Society, with a focus in
Information and Communication Technology, Multimedia Networking and Simulation of Complex
Socio-Economic Systems.
The core topics of R&D are Beyond 3G Networking, Audio-Visual Coding Standards, Digital
Rights Management, Virtual and Augmented Reality,
Multimodal Human-Computer Interaction, Mobile Computing, Grid Computing,
Open Source Systems and Intelligent Agents. |
